Zoundry Test Post
from Mind-Threads Web Design

So Far, So Good. Today I’m testing Zoundry. I saw it earlier and bypassed it because it just didn’t look ready. After a little more reading last night, and an install to the USB drive, I’m now trying a post via another PC. The code for Zoundry appears to be in python and it requires Java so be for warned. However I think there’s hope. Even though the shortcut didn’t point to the correct drive letter it still started up. I was disappointed to see that it didn’t save my settings. However, after a look-see, I realized since I logged in on this PC under a different account, Zoundry assigned another account as well. I simply copied over the info and presto, everything is back. Now for some picture posting. So far it appears to support images, and if you didn’t notice by the title it supports Fonts, Sizes, and Colors!. So far its looking like it may be OK. It does text alignment, image alignment. (more…)

Pinks All Out - The good the bad the ugly.

GOOD: This past weekend I got a treat. One of the few TV shows I like actually came to Rockingham of all places. After it was announced, the 300 slots filled up in less than 48 hrs. It was great! Just look at my link above for the Pinks Photo Page . THE BAD: For those that follow Pinks , this one was different. First off they waived the Pink Slip. Nobody was loosing a car. I don’t know if this was a legal NC thing or a marketing thing but I could still deal with it. Since the time trials for the 300 finished early (I got there at 12:30 or so, I’m sure I missed some cars) they let ALL the entertainment stuff go twice, they even let the group of cars they didn’t select run twice (9.5 seconds or so I heard). This meant the fans got to see the snow mobiles, the bikes, the Jr. Dragsters, the Pro-Mods, everything twice. I was OK with that, this was probably a GOOD thing. Then it happened.. Due to the ? cold ? they changed the Final 16 (10.5 second cars I th ...

Tags: BlogDesk , Deepest Sender , Microsoft Windows Live Writer , offline blogging , Qumana , scribefire , w.bloggar OK, so you’ve seen the last few post and are wondering what my results were. Here’s MY order of winners: (Oh, all are FREE!! My #1 requirement) The WINNERS! BlogDesk : It didn’t like long passwords but other than that the clear winner! <only downner was no support for text resizing> +1,-1 etc.. Qumana : A decient #2 and it did work well in pretty much all my test, I just didn’t like it’s “feel”. Microsoft Windows Live Writer (A very strong #3 or tie for #2). Being from MS I had to be somewhat jaded from the beginning. If they keep it FREE (Hey, it’s primary function IS SUPPOSED to be to support one of THEIR products right?) and they are calling it a beta. (The last beta I tried of theirs didn’t ask for an install directory either?) - Watch out for this if they fix the ...

Firefox Blog tool Test

OK.. this is the LAST one honest.. till someone shows me a better one. This one uses Firefox and installs as an extension. The interface is VERY basic, but it does look like it covers the basics I’m looking for. Spellcheck, multiple accounts, offline mode, saves, images..speaking of.. ugh.. NO image uploading.. this ones a nix too.. In case you’re wondering what my NEXT uninstall is.. it was Deepest Sender.. No embeded image support… that’s a shame, I’d have liked a firefox addon. Gene

Microsoft?s Window?s Live Writer Beta

Well this is probably totally stupid. The beta didn’t even ask where I wanted to install the thing so that’s going to be the first to go.. Strike 1 www.SandhillsAgriculture.com Oh Great, you insert a link and it goes thru your IE history to pre-populate it… somewhat OK, but that’s just microsoft trying to help or snoop, and I bet that won’t work if Firefox is my default browser? .. its from Mircrosoft so just for that.. Strike 2. Hummm.. now for an image test.. Filler text… nah..can’t wrap up top, but it does have a couple of border effects and I think is trying to get my CSS if it could.. maybe a 1/2 Strike.. Well let’s see what it posted now: OK? Conclusion: If you don’t mind it installing “where ever” and you like MS integration then this is probably the poop for you. It’s around 4.5 mb so not as bad as most of their stuff and I’ve heard that people using the new office 2007 and that have the ...

BlogDesk Testing

Tags: BlogDesk Well tonight I’m testing out BlogDesk . It’s the software I mentioned to you (Ray) about maybe Wendy trying since she’s on dialup? (I’m also thinking of using it for my remote posting as well) If all’s well in the world you should see this post with an image down by my name and the WordPress <– here as a link and a WordPress logo up top with paragraph wrapping around it? It doesn’t look all that great (menu wise) but does have wysiwyg and most of what you’d want or expect. Oh, in case you’re wondering about the Tag: line up top, its for Technorati.. they track links and such to help search engines and other things.. look them up. Here’s the download link for BlogDesk WhtDragon (EDITED: Well that’s been a mess… Blogdesk liked one account, but not the other. So I tried w.Bloggar.. man that programs a mess. They don’t know what wysiwyg is! So now I’m in Qumana.. kind ...
